![]() ![]() A 6 speed rubi from the factory has a crawl ratio of 74.9 The axle gear ratio for the rubi automatic to match the 6 speed from the factory in terms of performance should be around 4.56 Truth be told a 2007 x/sahara that came with 4.10 axle gears 2.72 transfer case and a 6 speed has a better crawl ratio then the rubi with 4.10 axle gears 4.10 transfer case and an automatic.Ĥ9.73 for sport/sahara vs 47.74 crawl ratio for the rubi. Lucky the rubi has a 4.1 low gear in the transfer case as well and makes off roading in it much better then in a sport or sahara with the same axle gearing. ![]() Even with the 4.10 ratio the automatics are still sluggish with the factory tires compared to a jeep that is properly geared to match the rpm speeds needed to hit the sweet spot in the power band of the 3.8 motor. Small differences in tire size should not affect the performance of the drivetrain much if it is properly geared in the first place, unfortunately we all know the 07-11 automatics were under-geared from the factory unless you were a lucky one that got a 07 with 4.10 gears or bought a rubicon. Knowing how you measure your tires would help for collecting accurate data. The weight of the wheel will also affect the performance of the stock drivetrain/gearing. In regards to measuring the mounted wheel for gear ratio considerations it should be measured from the center of the hub to the ground and multiplied by 2. I see lengthy discussions on the forums on how to measure the true mounted size of a tire. I am surprised they have not been class action sued over this yet like we went true several years ago with computer monitor sizes. Most of todays tire molds are closer to advertised heights although there are some that are noticeably smaller then advertised. This was more of an issue in the past when most tires would run 1" or more less then advertised. We all know that tire size is approximate and will vary in height from vehicle to vehicle that are of different weights and and different psi rates. Tire: Hankook Dynapro LT295/75x16" MT Advertised 33.6" True tire size at 28psi is 35.1",brand new tire, zero miles. True tire height at 28psi is 34.25" at 17/32" tread depth, new tread depth is 21/32". Probably makes a difference if measured at edge of tread.Īctual height: 33.3" (posted height 34.6") Wheel: Raceline RT-233 beadlock, 17x9.5 (actual measurment closer to 10")Īctual height at 30 psi is 34.5" measured at the center of tire with a level. Feel free to post up your own Jeeps shoe measurement. Keep in mind, these measurements are from the actual user and each person may measure slightly differently so again, it's not 100%, but it is better than what is printed on your sidewall. This is a C&P from Jeep Forum but figure we can add to it and create our own. This discussion came up on another thread and instead of muddying up that thread I figured we could start one here. As we all know, actual tire height vs advertised is a bit different. ![]()
